The above definition of compost is courtesy of dictionary.com, and technically could be called accurate. But don’t you think it shortchanges the magic of horticulture?  I say “magic”, because what else can you call it when substances as disparate as coffee grounds, carrot toppings and bread—subjected to the forces of bacteria, sun and rain—combine to form a life-giving substrate?

What has this got to do with Tartitude? Hahaha. Good question.

It’s merely that my brain is fried from a totally AWESOME critique group meeting last night; and that I’m not organized to have a post done in advance; and that my commitment to you folks is to have something to say at least three times a week.

That is to say, you’re getting some odds and ends today, which in and of themselves, would not a blog post make. But combined… Smilie by GreenSmilies.com

Lastly, my own link, which comes via Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. I love it for its title, for the delicious inappropriateness of its subject, and because it lets me know that no matter how far I might go at the Tartitude, there are always others who have pushed that line just a little further.
