I have a secret list of authors whom I’d love to interview, and Joshilyn Jackson has been on it for years. Why? Two simple reasons that go beyond her NYT-bestselling status and all the industry accolades:
1. I have a crush on her writing. It’s emotional, honest, and feels “big”. Her characters linger in my brain for weeks and I can recall a novel’s voice for longer yet.
2. The tap doesn’t turn off when the fiction-read ends. She has a huge, outgoing personality and isn’t afraid to use it.
Are you fan?
If not, are you man or woman enough to become one? (Sorry. I ate my complex carbs for breakfast and they’re making me punchier than usual.) Then join us on Writer Unboxed where we talk about her latest novel, Someone Else’s Love Story, which releases tomorrow. Joshilyn is taking questions today only — she’s about to set off on a book tour — so seize the moment, Zesties.

I’d like to think I’m man enough. 🙂
Great job, Boss! One of your best interviews from among many greats.
Wow, V. Thank you so much!
How did I miss this?? I’m a HUGE fan of JJ’s books – I’ve read them all, with the exception of the tiny novella and the new book. My daughter snatched the novella before I could read it (I hooked her on JJ’s books, too) and I haven’t had a chance to dig into the new one yet. I know it will end up on the keeper shelves with all her other books! So sorry for my dreadfully late comment.
Gosh, Becke, comments are *always* welcome. Please don’t apologize.
And I think I knew that we shared a love of her fiction. Neat that you’ve got your daughter onboard as well, too.
I have yet to read the short story, but I suspect her latest novel will be your favorite yet. Let me know if I’m right. 🙂
