Psst. You know how I’ve been cracking jokes all along about my untapped literary genius? Well if you come here, I’ll let you in on a little secret.
I’m not all that good. But – and this is huge here, folks! – turns out I don’t suck quite as bad as I thought, either. I’m writing something at present that I’m actually kind of pleased with. I won’t share any more details for fear of jinxing my progress, but suffice it to say it’s a contemporary romance set in the southern US.
But now that I’m over the writing doldrums, what the heck am I going to do with this thing?
Don’t even bother to suggest taking it off my hands. I’m thinking of melting it down and having it recast into something…useful.
Any suggestions?

Thanks, Hilary! It feels good. 🙂 How goes your own writing? Or are you getting too famous to have time for fingers on the keyboard?
No fame yet! Unless of course you call the guy at Starbucks finally knowing my first name fame! ha, ha! Fingers are actually going numb from tapping on the keyboard!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Congratulations! 🙂 The most I can hope for during the first draft is ideas thrill me. Reminds me of that quote…
I have rewritten — often several times — every word I have ever published. My pencils outlast their erasers.

Congratulations on your Muse running in and stomping around with you. Enjoy it!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
That should be “ideas THAT thrill me” 🙂
(see, I can’t even hope for good grammar or passable English)
🙂
Ruth, you’re a positive fountainhead of good quotes. Thanks, both for this and the good wishes. We’ll see if it my Muse is up for more fun today. 🙂
That’s always a great feeling!
I want to know where you got the smiley face jumping on the dusty sofa…that’s cute! I wonder if they make one with flying cat hair…
Laura, dang! I can’t put this in the reply, which would just be too convenient now, wouldn’t it. Anyway, check this out:

Hilary, someday that Starbucks guy is gonna know your name, and your preference of sprinkles. 😉
Hah! But they should have shown the cat shredding the smiley…oh, I feel another horror story welling up. 😉
LOL. You don’t need much for inspiration, do you?
